"Hi all Neurergus lovers. There has been a lot of concern and interest in Neurergus species, especially N. kaiseri and N. microspilotus. With N. kiaseri we are working mainly with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Department of the Environment (DOE), and Razi University, with both species. The DOE is doing what it can to prevent the sale of N. kaisesi, but current sanctions are making conservation resources limited. The international sanctions do not discriminate conservation or humanitarian efforts from other sanction targets so all suffer. However, kaiseri and microspilotus have a wider range than previously published, with microspilotus appearing very threatened in Iran, and its threats in Iraq un-assessed. However, there are several research groups working on the issues and we will have quite a few revealing publications out soon. To foster networking and co-operatation by Neurergus conservationists, to raise support, and to disseminate knowledge we are establishing a website www.neurergus.org (online but in construction). We would like all researchers and conservation breeders to provide us information for a dedicated page to their efforts. Please send a personal photo, a short biography or if researcher plus CV, images of your project if you like, and a description of your project.
